Damian,

Did you have the same reaction to the way we played in the Southampton game?

Cheers!

Sean

I nearly posted on Sunday evening but thought "what's the point" - which
just shows how wrong I was.

I'm afraid I wasn't pleasantly surprised because in spite of winning I
thought the football on show was pretty dire. Given that I only get to see
the odd televised match these days it could be because (a) I don't know
what I'm talking about [anymore?] or (b) you all watch them much more
regularly so haven't noticed the decline over time ;)

I get the "solid" bit, the chasing and denying space, I would add "some of
their" in front of chances which to be fair is deja quelque chose, but I
wasn't watching a promotion contender - even less so in Boro.

The striking charateristic of Grayson's Leeds was their ability to play
football which surprised Liverpool, ManU, Tottenham & Arsenal. Whilst you
may have had to kick your way out of the second division in the old days, I
think that QPR & Norwich (entre autres) have shown you're more likely
nowadays to play your way out, and Sunday's Leeds didn't look like they
could.

Cheers, Damian
