I don't think you've seen enough, to be honest. Some of the games I've
been to have been truly dire - the 4-0 at Barnsley for example, or the
draw at Watford for which the term anti-football would be completely
inapplicable, because it still has the word football in it.

Of the 12 games I've been to this season before the 'Boro one... only
one was a legitimate win - the 3-0 at Doncaster. The two others we
needed red cards to help.

The surprising cup football has long gone - we may have beaten the Scum
two years ago, but they stuffed us 3-0 with Michael "Benchwarmer" Owen
at home the last time. And Arsenal's main impediment to beating us this
year was that they played Arshavin rather than someone who could shoot.

I feel Grayson was hard done by, both by Bates and by the players -
because if they can actually chase and deny space now, why they couldn't
manage it before is something of a scandal. But he's gone, and they're
doing what everyone's wanted them to do - actually put a shift in.
Whether this can be built on is a different matter (and even at 2-0 up I
still didn't feel confident on Sunday) but there's been noticeable
improvements from Portsmouth through the Southampton game to 'Boro, so I
may have to say it through gritted teeth, but Colin looks like he's
doing the right things.
