My abiding memory of IRC (apart from doing my own stints at the commentaries) was having to 'man the fort' to 'repel all boarders' (nice mixed metaphor there) when we were being besieged by the evil Turks. Seemed to be mostly Pete Castlehouse and me, doing shifts! I seem to remember that if there wasn't a Mod on the channel, then the first person on could take control and kick everyone else off, and the Galatasaray vermin kept taking control and then not letting Leeds fans on at gametime...
