That one sounds like an audio codec issue - your PC has probably got much more modern codecs on it that will allow it to play the files, but your iRiver may not have. If you have any software that allows you to convert audio and save it as plain old, non-variable bit-rate MP3 files, then try simply converting them and saving them to the iRiver again.
