I think GFH have done nothing to show that they're not part of the problem, rather than part of the solution. They seem out of their depth in terms of both finance and football. I have no faith in them making the best choice for manager - they already let Adkins slip through their fingers. In fact, I'm really worried we'll bring in some past-it/never-had-it journeyman manager. For these reasons, I think the best case scenario is that they sell the club very, very soon to someone with real money and real vision. One would hope that Parkin is that guy, perhaps backed by an (even) wealthier Saudi, as is rumored. Then Parkin could hire a young(ish), talented manager with potential to take us back to the promised land. My ideal would be diMatteo, but I'd be interested to see what Poyet could do. The worst case scenario is we keep muddling through with the mysterious GFH and their collection of 10 percent backers, who hire the first guy with a long (as opposed to successful) record of management. Talk of McLaren and Hughes terrifies me.
Sadly, I think the worst case scenario is probably also the likeliest case scenario. Cheers! Poyet seemed to get the best out of a limited squad when he was with us under Wise. Unless GFH find some cash, the only way forward for us is to produce more youth players. It's unfair to judge Dawson after one game, but he seems to have potential - but do we have enough quality in the reserve and youth teams to step up next season? If our only option is to rely on youth then whoever comes in as manager needs a long term strategy vision to make this happen, certainly a few seasons and my big fear is that GFH and the fans just won't have the patience to wait this through.
