Very fair comments Dave.

Let's face it, things could be worse - we could be Scumderland :-)

Roker Roar - pah!

I forgot to mention the pass by Murphy - it was excellent , my son, for what
its worth reckons that Murphy is going to be top notch and says he has watched
him closely in the 2 games he has been to and is impressed.
As for Diouf as MOM it was noticeable in the very brief highlights on the
Football League show that he was involved in all 3 chances - he crossed for the
Smith goal, had a great lay off back to Rody who should have done better in the
last minute and was involved in the Tonge miss. He is the  touch of class we
need and it would be great if we could play him 'in the hole' behind Ross and
whichever from Varney / Poleon / Smith / Hunt but I think to do that we need a
more energetic and mobile midfield to do his running , it may work with Green
instead of Tonge or maybe if Mowatt can become the player we all hope.

There are lots of rumours that we will have a new striker before  Millwall ,
with Le Fondre being mentioned since he may be available on loan.

I think the margins in this Division are so small that one playerand one
incident  can make a huge difference.
We could have got anywhere between none and six points in the Reading and
Brighton games - in both it was a draw with minutes to go, in one they missed a
sitter and we went up the other end and got a winner, in the other we missed a
sitter and they came down our end and got the winner. Even on Saturday any
result was possible and could have been justified - if Varney had scored either
of his chances, if White had got the penalty, if Kenny had not messed up  then
we could easily have won the game (even if they were better) At Ipswich we
could have been 3 down (and out) before we got into the game. Leicester one
mistake or bit of brilliance would have won the game for either side etc
So although we have now lost 3 in 4, inc 2 on the bounce at home, it is miles
too early to panic, and I still think we will be in and around the play off
positions all season

I prefer it when Diouf plays, I think he creates us more chances/outlets. I'm
still willing to give Murphy more time too - I think he has vision, it just
needs the end product refining. He did a brilliant long, cross pitch pass to
Ross M who crossed for the 1st half Varney header miss.
