>Question for John Lee: Is Northern Soul really fashionable again? And if
not why is even the Guardian running articles on it (already peaked and on
the way out?

John's busy polishing his lambretta no doubt, so I'll answer - it never went
away! like any of the youth subcultures in the UK, on any night in most
towns you'll find differnet pubs filled with Punks, Mods, Rockers, Ravers,
Rockabillys, Skins, Suedeheads, even Neo New new Romantics fer fuck sake.
doing what they've always done, and not just sad middle aged people but a
fair smattering of new recruits. That's one of the many wonderful things
about the UK, cultural ideas don't disappear they just carry on and on and
on and on. Still don't worry Damian, you've still got Johnny Hallyday as a
cultural icon ;)
