My guess is that its to do with due diligence. GFH have made a loss the haigh group couldn't get the backing as sums didn't add up.
If you were buying a house and you found a problem that meant your mortgage company wouldn't lend you the full amount you couldn't proceed unless they dropped the price or you risked your own funds.
