Not much I'd disagree with you as usual Rich. I'm going to focus my rant on McDermott though because I've had enough.
On what planet would the names of Peltier, Warnock, Kebe or Stewart go on a team sheet before Byram? If he has committed to making the latter two's loans permanent he wants shooting. What do they do in training? They play like they have never met each other. He stands on the touchline showing no emotion. Kebe tossing it off right in front of him and nothing! Gets a big, fast forward with a bit of presence and let's him drop into the midfield to fetch ball for himself. He should be on centre half's shoulder ffs. Bolton are where they are in the league for a reason. Yesterday they put in a real shift, not much quality, they wanted to win more than us. The goals were shocking. Surprised Warnock is getting no stick. How the fuck did he play for England? His day dreaming cost us 1st goal and don't get me going about his corners. Lees cost us a couple, this lad just has not got it. Centre half with no presence and he is like a rabbit in the headlight. We have now had 3 results in a few weeks that are amongst the worst in the club's history. There is something seriously wrong with this team. He is a good bloke with lots of integrity - so is my old man. Bye bye Brian. I posted recently that I was worried about the number of loan signings and I think that worry was well founded when you saw the loan player performances today. Kebe is plain awful and when he went off we heard the loudest cheer of the game. Someone near my commented that we can do without that but I disagree, he deserves all he gets for performances like that. He was bloody awful. On the other wing, we’ve got the hapless Cameron Stewart. I don’t think I’ve seen him beat a man yet and when subbed he just couldn’t wait to get off. Two massive mistakes by BMD. To make things worse, by taking these two off BMD was just admitting his mistakes. He then instructed Wickham to play on the right wing and Macca on the left wing. What a tale of woe. I thought we were dreadful from the off today. Bolton, were the better footballing team in the first half but to be honest they looked toothless and only some slack defending from Wooton gave them half a chance in a first half devoid of chances. Our best effort came from a Luke Murphy shot which looked like it was going in but went wide. Apart from that we created very little. What we did do is get the ball into good positions but time and time again we were incapable of putting in a decent cross or pass or just gave it away. Lee Peltier was one culprit, playing a side foot 10 yard pass directly out of touch when not even under pressure. It missed Kebe by about 20 yards. Peltier is an average defender, you could probably say that he is capable in this league, but his distribution and general footballing skills are conference levels. In defence of Lee Peltier, he could point out that he is a defender and shouldn’t be the one getting crosses in to the box. We should be looking to Jimmy Kebe to do that job, but unfortunately Jimmy is not at the races at the moment. He looks like an out of sorts Brian Deane, playing on the right wing. The worst thing, and I’m sure this is not true, he doesn’t look like he’s that arsed. There were many 50:50 challenges out there for him today, but he bottled a lot of them and other’s gave an arse half effort. He was just terrible and when he did get into position he either turned back on himself , gave the ball away or just failed to get a cross in. It was the poorest performance by any Leeds player this season and that’s saying something. When he was subbed second half, the roof went off with cheers. A tad embarrassing for the player and the manager. The only players to come out with credit in the first half were Wickham and Murphy. Wickham, looked like a cut above the rest, almost a one man team. Luke Murphy on the other hand , battled and ran hard and did a lot of good work. Someone needed to. Going back to Wickham though, he is now picking up a lot of the play and balls that previously Macca would have. So this led to Macca no treally knowing where to play and for the first time in a while I was left wondering how to accommodate Macca in this formation. Neither an attacker or a midfielder. He got frustrated and as a result had his worst game this season. Their goal, when it came was a shambles. Bolton broke and it was 3 against 3 – how was it 3 against 3 ? The ball was played through, Wotton who was badly placed, stuck out a foot and only managed to push the ball onto the advancing Bolton player and in the process playing him on side. Buckland came out but he placed it easily into the net. So 1-0 at half-time. BMD took action. Peltier off ,Bryam on. Bad decision in my book. He should have kept Peltier on and took Kebe off. Byram immediately showed how easy it is to receive the ball, control it, play simple pass and receive football and look threatening. To be honest, the rest of the game is hard to remember. The goals all seemed to raol into one. I think there were 2 set pieces where they just seemed to roll the ball into the net. Unmarked and complete confusion in the Leeds defence including our new keeper. Dejected looks on all the players, I didn’t see any fight and I didn’t see anyone really showing they were hurting. Just disintegrated. Someone on Twitter was blaming all the goals on Bryram. I couldn’t comment but I have to say the sooner we get Byram into midfield the better. He’s the best young talent we’ve had for a while but playing him at right back will ruin him. People started leaving after 70 minutes. I stayed until the bitter end and saw us get a consolation from a Smith header from Macca’s only real contribution (cross). I think Smith was offside but who cares ? In fact Smith came out with a bit of credit and I think he’s an option we should look at. We know he’s not a world beater but he scores goals and does offer something different. The question then would be where does Macca play ? Old dilemmas. This was really poor and BMD looks like a beaten to me. It’s obvious to all that he’s lost the plot. His last throw of the dice with the loan wingers has failed spectacularly. 2 wins in 13 is relegation form. Scores: Buckland – 2. Poor keeping at times I thought. Peltier – 3. Poor. Warnock – 4. Wooton – 0. This guy is just not good enough, why are we playing him ? Lees – 0. Looked exposed next to Wooton. Murphy – 5. Decent first half, second anonymous. 1 million pound for someone who can run around a bit though is a bit of a piss take. He lacks quality. Austin – 4. All effort, no ability, Stewart – 0. Joke. Kebe -5. Unbelievably terrible. Wickham – 6. Looked good but can’t do it on his own. Macca – 1. Awful, Subs: Byram – 5. Maybe he might have contributed to the bad defending for the goals but we were all at sea by then anyway. He got the ball on the right and went on a solo run taking on 3 players. He has real attacking ability and should be playing in midfield. Mowatt – 4. Didn’t do much wrong but didn’t shine. Smith – 6. Made a minor impact and that was so much better than most. BMD – times up. I suppose he’s lucky we’ve got a match Tuesday. I’ve seen enough though. Big crowd, didn’t deserve that shite. Wine is going down fast.
