In addition to his (in)abilities as a footballer, Rooney's contribution as a 
captain was zero (or minus something).  What was needed was a Tony Adams, 
Stuart Pearce, even a John Terry to get round those shitehole players and give 
them all a good bollocking and threaten them with death in the changing room if 
they didn't improve.  No leadership on the pitch whatsoever.  

If you watched the Spain Italy match earlier, as I did, the gulf in basic ball 
skills was amazing, and don't even start talking about movement off the ball - 
Italy were Premier League, England were League One!  Italy have been by far the 
most entertaining team with emphasis on TEAM, and I'd be happy to see them win 
the tournament.
