It wasn’t so much the fact of the defeat (1-0 to the league leaders, them
scoring with a decent strike by the best player on the pitch - who of course
should have been off it by then…) it was the manner. Disorganised, gutless,
very little apparent plan…plan B…but the simple stuff like passes in to feet;
defenders getting goal side and staying there; getting a foot/head in where it
hurts on occasion; Green no more commands his box than any of our previous 5 or
6 keepers - the flap in the second half that injured him and Bartley was
laughable; dreadful substitution decisions - Antonsson instead of Wood, simply
shows someone who doesn’t understand the game they are seeing; dead balls…we
have at least three 6ft 3 monsters out there plus a good few more around the
6ft mark…practice dead balls and crossing until they are second nature for the
whole sodding team…i don’t like relying on that kind of game but it is what we
are set up for, so do it right.

(sarcasm warning) we are fortunate that once again our resident moron from two
rows back has decided to renew his ST…it took a full 2 minutes yesterday for
him to start slagging off our players…the abuse he gave Phillips when another
free kick failed to get past the first man was appalling (not that it was in
any way xenophobic or otherwise dodgy, which is a step forward for this numpty)
…perhaps this is one of the reasons we are so shit at home. Anyone else old
enough to remember ER described as a fortress…what a long time ago that seems.

I’ve waited a couple of games before saying anything much but it is hard to see
where any of this is going. Not that sacking Monk will achieve anything…

my esteemed long suffering mate offered the following on about 80 minutes…"we
have had no one booked for getting in hard or taking one for the team, Town
have had 4 or 5"…the size of the fight in the dog sometimes makes all the
difference.

Wood makes you yearn for the work rate of Becchio…an unbelievable sentence to
type.

Jansson and Bartley are solid in the air and the tackle but lumbering around
their feet and not the quickest…they will get hammered at some point. I hope
Berardi gets fit soon because he is the best defender at the club by a mile
(now that Taylor is sulking).

BTW - relegation 6 pointers do not happen before xmas, people should stop being
so alarmist.
