agree Dave but ultimately we'll find out in the next few weeks if we have
actually built upon last season.
I think the Bartley / Jansson partnership will be hard to replace and I expect
us to start leaking goals again.
It also doesn't look like the new manager wants to play Viera - hope that's
wrong and bringing in a new keeper to replace arguable the player of the season
looks dangerous to me.
Anyway, looking forward to Bolton and Preston - season might be over by end of
August.

Subject: [LU] Things getting stranger
We seem to have been making a lot of 'strange' decisions this close seasonWe
have brought in a lot of behind the scences people - I don't even know the job
titles of many, then we get a lot of (supposedly highly rated) foreigners to
play for the under 23s, then we sign a player on a 4 yr contract but send him
straight out on loan and not even to an English club where he could adjust and
learn the game over here. All this with adding 6 or 7 midfielders but without
replacing the only two players of note who left - Bartley and Taylor.
Now , perhaps the strangest of all , TC has allegeldy asked the players to pick
the captain - no problem if this is the club captain, someone to represent the
players, but really odd if it is the actual captain on the pitch . Bremner and
Strachan to pick two obvious examples were the managers 'favourite' and were
his eyes, ears and most importanitly mouth on the pitch. SO they have to be
someone who plays every week and who really buys into the managers ideas.
So, whilst I am happy with the way things are going - we seem to be a lot more
professional and properly run, and of course buying back ER is a massive plus,
there are still things which appear odd (the choice of TC as manager being one)
Dave
