I am Leeds born and proud of it. Two events happened within days which made me think. Israel won a world wrestling event in Abu Dhabi. The Arabs refused to fly the Israeli flag and play the anthem; the winner sang it. Moreover, Catalonia -- which is Barca; went for independence. What am I trying to say? Sport is about pride and belonging. It is not a brand and cannot be foisted off onto oil-rich decadents, Russian robber-barons or some soulless multi-national tax evader. Leeds United is at least Yorkshire, the owners and the spirit must be Leeds. Fuck these saviours and poncey whatever. It is not Yorkshire it is not Leeds. What is there about the way our club is run that is Leeds? The answer is fuck-all. TBH I prefer to be Crewe Alexander with a soul than a soulless modern team. Leeds United is not Leeds and not United. We are soccer starved, and we are being conned. Until we have either a Yorkshire consortium or supporter representation, nothing will change.
