What a great result (again) makes the game v Boro on Friday a real mouthwatering prospect - both unbeaten and joint top of the leagueWatching on a live feed it looked as if the pink dressing room had worked as we started very poorly and hardly got a touch in the first five minutes or so. We survived without too many scares and gradually got a foothold in the game, a game which was decided in 5 minutes really with two good goals from our point of view (not sure how happy the keeper will be) A decent header by Alioski was saved but the keeper parried straight to Klitch who continued his great goal scoring form by slotting home with style, then a great ball from Roofe found Alioski out wide in the box and he fired at goal beating the keeper at his near postWe made sure of the three points when Pablo stepped inside a defender and curled one into the corner We did not really hit the heights but we kept them at bay - Pontus looking good and BPF collecting the ball from corners on a few occasions like a real keeper (ie not Felix) We continued to work our whatsits off - even at 3 nil and in the last minutes we were chasing down their keeper and defender and hunting in packs, and right at the end a couple of our defenders really put their bodies on the line, throwing themselves to the ground to block the ball - 100% commitment and belief (and that is -almost- all we ask for) MB as usual sat on his bucket or haunches totally impassive got very animated in the last ten minutes prowling the technical area and waving and shouting - making sure the players continued to complete Plan A and not revert to type by defending or wasting time - both his subs were like for like - Bamford for Roofe and then Harrison out wide for Pablo (who took a knock) - no sending on an extra defender (Shaunessey) or a defensive midfielder - no settling for 3 0 - we were going for a fourth. I am sure some game in the future, I and others, will criticise him for this as we throw away a 2 or 3 goal lead BUT it is how he wants us to play and that is good enough for me So another 3 pts in the bag, and some more brilliant pass and move , one touch football - great to watch at times and with one or two exceptions looking solid at the back with Pontus dominant in the air Looking forward to watching the fringe players on Tuesday (I was away for Bolton game) and then a return to normal and a massive game on Friday night in front of another full house Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
