Went to the match with three sisters, Mike, Claire and Chris 'Totty Twin' Fitz. No buses to ground but easily caught a cab. Not too difficult to get settled into the kop with a lot of people who were clearly enjoying the ease of getting tickets. Lots of families with excited kids and to be honest a really nice atmosphere. Not Fortress Elland Road but still 30000 Leeds fans.
The first half was very watchable and we were treated to a great goal by Georgie. Second half went to pot as everyone including Jack the doorman got a run out. I agree with Kev,the squad does look thin. Halfwits booing Leeds players clearly never got past Play School. Bamford very well received. Willie was clearly targeted by Valencia's players and a number of other players got a kicking. Sad to see a player sent off in what was supposed to be a friendly bit the daft bastard deserved it. Elland Road really does need more than wash and brush up (thank you several gangs of shite potless previous owners) but it was good to be there. Considering the fascist scum are rioting all over Northern England it was interesting to see how distanced this game was from all that shite. The walk back into town was like a stroll on a Sunday afternoon with your mates. An interesting day out but I am still left wondering about the season ahead without the purchase of some proven class. My next match looks like Hull. I wonder what we will look like at the end of August. All digits crossed. Betty PS Programme £4. In future £5. Hopefully it will have some colouring in or a dot-to-dot to make up for the rubbish effort I paid £4 for. Squad numbers might be useful eh Kev? Or are they holding out for some podcast to take on Bamford full time to release his shirt number. PPS Felt very sorry for all the kids with Summerville on the back of their shirts. _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected] Find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/leedslist/ Dave Dowden, a legend, a Totty Twin, a pie man!
