Need to keep it short as I am going away for Christmas but back for scum game What a way to end the year at ER a deserved 4-1 victory against a more than decent side . So Leeds the team who will struggle to score goals end up with 10 in the last 3 home games , all against top 6 or 7 opposition We dug in when necessary as palace played around us at times knocking it around for fun but we then hit them when we could and took most of our chances ( the excellent Aaronson should have abeen awarded a penalty early on , and their keeper made a great save right on the line near the end so it could have been more thsn 4 All our goals were from set pieces as Ampadus long throws caused chaos. First a corner was headed on and DCL shot at the keeper and poked home the rebound , then Amps. long throw was headed on and DCL headed home right on half time to give us a cushionAmps poked home after another corner was not cleared - his first league goal I think- the roof almost coming off with the Ampadu song being belted out. Then at the death after a penalty was deemed to be just outside the box Stach chipped in the free kickER under the lights was special once again with an atmosphere no PL club really matches and we are 100% behind Farke and this team inside the stadium So a 6pt gap now from relegation and ER does feel like a fortress again. We need to do better away from home but we are giving ourselves a fighting chance and whatever happens some good memories ( more than Southampton did last season for example) Let’s keep up the good work in the new year v scum with England’s number 9 on fire Dave _______________________________________________ Leedslist mailing list Info and options: https://mailman.gn.apc.org/mailman/listinfo/leedslist To unsubscribe, email [email protected]
