Community Bulletin FYI:

Hello
Just to remind you about the candle light walk THIS FRIDAY NIGHT, November
2nd from 7.00 PM to walk after 7.30PM - at Genocide corner ( in front of
Adelaide Government House).

This is the 21st walk !

Come along and show your support for a Treaty, Bill of Rights & No Nuclear
DumpsCome along with banners, candles and hope that this is the beginning
of justice for the Ngarrindjeri people.

These walks have been going on now for over 18 months and aim to protect
and defend Ngarrindjeri and other Indigenous culture, spiritual beliefs,
lands & waters, and to stop any nuclear waste dump on traditional lands,
and nuclear wastes from affecting the community and Indigenous environment.

The decision by Von Doussa was hailed by Ngarrindjeri as vindication they
did not make up the secret women's business used to support the ban on the
Hindmarsh Island bridge. In handing down his judgement, vonDoussa stated:

"...I am not satisfied that the restricted women's knowledge was fabricated
or that it was not part of genuine Aboriginal tradition"

As we have been stating month after month, the Ngarrindjeri want access to
their island.

WE NEED A FERRY TO KUMARANGK NOW!

The 2ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE CANDLE LIGHT WALK IS COMING UP - 26TH JANUARY,
2002!!
