Hi Ken I think the protective/aggressive side came out in a few members if I recall the thread you are talking about. I think certain members of the group object to people asking for exact plans of the Legacy equipment so they can make a copy. That's different from a question where someone is asking if having an index system that is adjustable would be useful. One's blatant thievery and the other is asking for opinions of how to make a machine better. Hopefully the question is followed up with details of what was made from the results of the question so other can duplicate the effort. You could say one is a selfish question and the other benefits the group. I would love to see your machine. I have no objection to you posting it if you feel like sharing. I've learned from posting ideas that people ask questions or suggest features that I never thought about when I built the thing.
Thanks for your input, it's really appreciated. -Tim ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Bulkeley" <bulke...@mmnet.com.au> To: <legacy-ornamental-mills@googlegroups.com> Sent: Monday, July 04, 2011 4:58 PM Subject: Re: All New Members > Hi Ken I don't know about any one else but I would love to see pictures of a > home made mill and projects from it > as you can see from other posts here the basic legacy mill is just the start > then we add heaps of modifications. > when building your own you could incorporate them all in the one machine and > perhaps come up with a superior > mill than the legacy one who knows,.and anything you can produce with you > machine that we cant will certainly get all our brains working overtime > lololol > > Bill > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "toomanyprojects" <design...@sbcglobal.net> > To: "Legacy Ornamental Mills" <legacy-ornamental-mills@googlegroups.com> > Sent: Tuesday, July 05, 2011 3:04 AM > Subject: Re: All New Members > > > > Well, I can say, at least for myself, I find the group interesting, > > but have lots of other things I do as a hobby. > > I did build a legacy like mill, with 20 inches between the rails, but > > haven't finished the indexing feature yet.
