I sort of figured that Cathy (re the Single Parent option) - however, it still results in a sentence that says Mary had a child with . Oh, no it doesn't, that wording is mine. If I changed it to had a child it should work.

Once you've added data to that unknown - even if you simply go in and name them yourself Unknown - you've lost access to the Single Parent options.
