Kris,As far as I know, not to run it all day is the only solution. At one time I left Legacy running all day and had similar problems (and others), although I never lost data. Since shutting down when I'm not going to use it for a while all has been OK.Ron Ferguson _____________________________________________________________________ New Blog: Free Contacts Database for use with Open Office http://www.fergys.co.uk View the Grimshaw Family Tree at: http://www.fergys.co.uk/Grimshaw/ For The Fergusons of N.W. If I just "cancel" out, close the program (backup stalls, so I don't try to do that anymore), andreopen it, everything's fine. But tonight it happened and I lost the personal information for the individual. He was listed as "unknown" and his birth, death and burial info was gone. The events and sourced were still there, though. Since this happens pretty much every day I use it (because I just start everything up in the morning and shut it down at night -- so it runs all day), with all the computers I've used, it's just something I've gotten used to. But now that I have lost data, I'd like to know how to avoid it happening again. Is the solution just to not leave it running so long?
