Martin,
 
Why do you say that it does not strip all the html - what do you use to check 
it?
 
The reason I ask is that I have just copied a long piece of an Index from 
Ancestry, and Pasted into the Research Notes. Highlighted with ctrl+A, copied 
and pasted into an html editor, and there is no html present.

Are you assuming the html is still there because the formatting hasn't changed?
