How are you planning to construct a computer literacy test? My sister
has been a COBOL programmer for 45 years, but does not know much about
PC's. I have been involved with PC's for over 25 (and was a UNIVAC
programmer earlier) but that does not make me easy around some parts of
e-mail. I have installed a couple of computer systems for groups and
must have hundreds of spreadsheets. That does not make me literate in
all parts of computing. And we are trying to encourage new people,
aren't we, instead of scaring them off?

I myself prefer not to have a digest, because I can easily keep the
parts I want and drop the rest without a lot of editing.
