Maybe you missed the "happy face" at the end of the line in my post.
I'm just saying that Legacy users who are typically more knowledgeable than the average web-browser-and-email-only user should be able to recognize a line wrap on a long URL. Even if they don't see the problem the first time, its probably obvious to them when the solution is pointed out (been there-done that). Starting up Legacy for the very first time should have been more scary and more demanding for the user then signing up for a list-server. Yeah, I know its not PC to say a "computer literacy test" should be required, but it was meant to have brought a smile to your face instead of a disagreement in principle. My sister has been a COBOL programmer for 45 years, but does not know much about PC's. I have been involved with PC's for over 25 (and was a UNIVAC programmer earlier) but that does not make me easy around some parts of e-mail. I have installed a couple of computer systems for groups and must have hundreds of spreadsheets. That does not make me literate in all parts of computing. And we are trying to encourage new people, aren't we, instead of scaring them off? I myself prefer not to have a digest, because I can easily keep the parts I want and drop the rest without a lot of editing.
