I was not aware that the opposite/reverse of my choices' were being sent to the 
people who choose Source Writer.  A sort of redundancy, but I can live with it.

What you're seeing is a manifestation of 'flexibility' :-)

In one case (the options customisation), there are three possibilities

a) Basic System only
b) Basic System - but ask
c) SourceWriter

Then, when using SourceWriter, you get the option revert to the Basic System
for a single source.
