I presume you tagged all his ancestors before exporting them?  In that
case, go to the Name List, select Options and Advanced Deleting and
Delete everyone with the appropriate tag.

If there's *any chance* that someone is tagged but shouldn't be deleted
(your husband for example!) do a Search for everyone with that tag and
check the list before following the instructions above.
