Thanks, Ron, but actually I had tried Search & Replace on the
Notes-general tab and it hadn't worked.
I did eventually find, as Richard suggested, that neice had crept into
the dictionary and having deleted it the spell check on the notes page
worked.
However, when I changed it back deliberately wrongly in the notes
(without using spell check there) and ran Search & Replace again, it
again it didn't find it.  So I'm not sure quite what's wrong.
I hoped there was a way of globally searching ALL fields at once,
rather than category by category, but couldn't find it.
