Having been doing other things all evening, like making a panoramic photo, I have not looked at my emails this evenings until now, and with there being so many, this answer will have to do for them all! Of course I do not attach a Death Source to a Residence, except when the "residence" is a cemetery and the source is a cemetery record, or when the place of death on a certificate is the home residence of the individual at the time of death. In which case it is perfectly valid to use it for both. In fact I do! It is true that my major use is when adding new individuals, but since I add between 50 and 150 individuals/month to my files my usage of it is considerable, far easier than using the single bar icon for every Event. If the information for an individual has, for example, come from a Marriage Index (that may be specific to us Brits.), then the first census in which I find that person in the marriage, confirms the initial source, and adds residence, and, maybe, Occupation - 3 bar icon! Someone may already have quoted the Help File, but here is the information: "you can click [3 bar icon] to have Legacy automatically assign the source to every field on the Information form that is not blank. (This also includes all events in the event list.)." I think that makes it perfectly clear as to what is does. If I remember correctly (and being long in the tooth that may be open to question), when I first looked at the Source/Event Clipboards I actually read the Help Files before doing anything with it, since from just looking at the screen it is not obvious as to how it works. Often I just suck it and see on a test file file - often the Sample file which comes with all Legacy downloads. In fact that file now bares little resemblance to that which Geoff kindly gives us for this purpose!
