Depends how and where they are used, I think. I use Chapman Codes in my Short Locations but the Short Locs are really only for my benefit. If I'm compiling a Report for "outside consumption" I would use the Long Locations (which include full address, counties, etc and no abbreviations except USA because typing United States of America every time would be a PITA and I think *everyone* understands USA!) As for removing the Codes, or any part of a Location, Short or otherwise, you can use Search & Replace. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergr...@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
