I'm not sure what you mean by "this," but the link you posted (Family Search Pilot, or sometimes called Family Search Labs) involves actual records (e.g., indexes and digital images of original records like Ohio Death Certificates and Argentina census records, both of which I've had the need to use, believe it or not). In other words, it is #5 on Heather Stovold's explanation earlier today of the various FamilySearch collections. You do not have to be an LDS member to use this site. The only portion of FamilySearch one needs to be an LDS member to use is NewFamilySearch (#4 on Heather's list). Legacy 7.4 has been built to be compliant with NewFamilySearch (along with correcting things that are important to all of us, not just LDS members).
