There has been so much mis-information in this thread that it is probably
worth restating them all:

Open: is used to for opening the standard Legacy .fdb data files
Import: is for GEDCOMs, no matter how they were created (and this includes a
Legacy Gedcom)
Restore: is for the opening the back-up files. These are the zip files.
