There seem to be some anomalies like this when SourceWriter source details have any blank boxes. The coders did a pretty good job of setting them up to automatically reformat to address this, but there are still a lot of small quirks (and probably some big bugs if you dig deep enough.) The type I most commonly see are extra punctuation and spaces when I'm using a template that asks for something like a volume and page number and I either don't know it or it isn't applicable to the material I'm citing. Likewise I really dislike how SourceWriter handles the 'Privately held by XXXX/[ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE]' feature on Artifacts, letters and the like -- especially when I already have that information in the repository section or would prefer to keep the information private without making a big, all-caps statement to that effect, so I tend to omit it from my source entry and that always also results in stray punctuation.
I've filed bug reports on some SW issues but those have yet to be resolved. I imagine with the huge number of templates and myriad combination of ways they can be used while omitting certain fields, that it would be quite the undertaking to systematically test every combo to ensure the formatting is done right, but it does end up looking quite sloppy when reports and GEDCOM exports end up with weird bugs like that. Unfortunately, overriding the default is a very time-consuming task because of the lack of wildcards for source details requires you to manually enter everything each time.
