Keep in mind that many who registered for the draft never served in the military. Hence, I created an event entitled Draft Registration. This covers all of my relatives who registered for World Wars I and II. These records are available to me on Ancestry.com.
BTW, Legacy does have a template for draft registrations (under Military). Go to Cite a New Source and type Draft in the search block. You will then be taken to the menu. You will also see that Elizabeth Shown Mills addresses this topic in Section 11.33 of her book "Evidence Explained." This template works great for me using her data. I would probably use the Military Event and then click on the Sentence Override tab (next to the Event Notes tab) and change the sentence structure so that it comes out exactly the way I want. My favorite sentence structure is nothing but [Notes][Sources], so that I have complete control, but you have many options. For more information, click on Help > Index > Sentence for event. When using the Military event, the sentance does not come out quite right. I have a feeling that I am going to need to create a new event, but before I reinvent the wheel, I thought I would get an outside opinion. Thanks for your help.
