Jim:

When I said "the field for the publisher's information" I meant that the URL
should appear in the finished citation instead of the usual place of
publication. So where you would normally see Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in a
citation for the publisher of a book, you would instead see the LAC URL. The
exact name of the field might vary depending on which template you're using.

According to _Evidence Explained_ by Elizabeth Shown Mills, a website is the

Personally I have trouble wrapping my head around this concept, and I know a
lot of people list the URL as the repository, but Mills' approach does work
in
producing a properly formatted citation in Legacy.

Much as I have great respect for the advice of Elizabeth Shown Mills,
this does not make sense because there are frequently multiple web-sites
associated with a single publisher. Also I do not see any input field
in the Source dialog just for "Publisher's information", just a big
blank text field for "Publication Facts". It is not enough that I find
some nook to stick the URL information into. I need to be able to find
it in a systematic, automated, fashion so I can append the information
to my web site http://www.jamescobban.net/FamilyTree/legacyIndex.html.

In more detail the edit Source dialog permits me to put in a URL for the
Repository, but that is kind of useless because in the particular case
in question the repository is Library and Archives of Canada, which of
course is the repository for hundreds of sources that I currently refer
to, and literally millions of potential sources that I have not referred
to yet.

It would appear that I need to use the enhanced capabilities of
SourceWriter, but I am not given an option to convert the existing
source to use the SourceWriter.
