Legacy does have a feature to RENAME files, but unfortunately it doesn't also allow you to MOVE them. It would be really nifty if you could rename a file in C:\my documents that was called image.jpg and you renamed it to C:\my pictures\picture.jpg so that not only was it renamed, but also moved at the same time! To rename files within Legacy, go to Tools>Picture Centre (or Ctrl+P) and using the Browse button at the top, navigate to the folder which contains the files you want to rename. Click on the file you want to re-name (in the central Picture Filename section) and click the Rename button on the right. Type the new filename in the dialog box which opens. (As you have to type the whole name again, even for a minor edit, I often copy & paste the filename from an Explorer window and then make the change.) -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
