Leo, Thanks for the reply. I finally got my 38 MB fdb file uploaded to my iCloud account. I then, in Legacy 7.4, used the Open Family File to access it. With my Verizon MiFi2200 Internet connection of about 800 kbs, it looked like it would take about 45 minutes to download the fdb file back into Legacy. I canceled after it became apparent that the complete file would have to be downloaded. I had hoped that only a segment of the file would be needed Thus, it appears that unless one has a very high speed Internet connection, it is not viable to use the cloud to store your active fdb file.
Since it appears few of you are aware of iCloud, you can read about it on Dick Eastman's online genealogy news letter at: http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2010/08/move-your-computer-to-the-cloud.html#more. Sorry if my original post was in Rich Format. I have been using the Gmail for all of my Yahoo groups for years. Most of my other groups prohibit attachments or rich formatting and automatically strip them out. From now on, I will look at the top of the compose mail screen and assure that plain text is selected.
