There is plenty of evidence in the archives of this group, that various
Settings are not always persisted from one execution of Legacy to
another. To my way of thinking, people cause unnecessary problems for
themselves by a) keeping windows running overnight and b) keeping Legacy
running when they're not using it. Your settings, and the overall
behaviour of Windows, will benefit from regular shutting down, switching
off, restarts and what have you.

This is not a problem that particularly bothers me, since I use the
program for its' original purpose - as a database for storing my data.
I'm not in the least bothered about all the fancy reports and charts.

As for your comments about the Index list... You're perfectly correct.
That's what to do if you want to keep a particular order and size of
columns. The only difficulty with it is, you have to keep reloading your
favourite layout each time you run Legacy.
