What do you mean "which I don't think can be sourced"? > but also does provide evidence for births, deaths, marriages and other > facts that can be supported by sourcing If you are getting evidence of births, deaths, marriages etc from a Will or Monumental Inscription then the Will or the Monumental Inscription *is* the Source for that information. > > But I can't think of a consistent and sensible part of the Legacy > database as a home for these transcriptions or abstracts > There are 2 obvious places: as part of an Event and/or as part of the Source Citation. What I do rather depends on the nature of the "document." If I have a copy of a Will I only put a summary in the Notes field of a Will Event and attach the actual document to the Source Details. If I have, for example, copied the wording from a gravestone I will include all the wording in the Notes of a Memorial Inscription Event and also add it to the Text/Comments field of the Source Details. I have several Memorial Inscription Master Sources, one for each Cemetery and several Will Master Sources depending on which body holds them. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergr...@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp To unsubscribe: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/LegacyLists.asp
