Ron, I'm not sure that it is relevent, but Legacy does not like jpeg, try changing the extension to jpg.

The files I am having difficulty with are jpegs, the djvu images work fine (standard images versus enhanced images in FindMyPast). I have been into the census folder and picked out a jpeg image, used opened with... Windows Picture Viewer, Paint, etc, and click on the 'always use this program'. I would have thought that that would have made the selection become the default, but I still cannot view the jpegs in 'files' This has only occurred since I installed Nero MediaPlayer Hub recently, which is quite a large program. I suppose the obvious thing to do would be delete Nero and see what happens. Any more ideas?. I'm using Windows 7, but the images were displaying ok, before Nero! I understand why you use Files, rather than Picture, because your census images are probably pdf files and that's how they must be attached. I downloaded Foxit Reader (you could also use Adobe, or any other free PDF reader). Problem solved for me. Hope it works for you.
