I would think that Legacy keeps the location of the Data and Multimedia
files in one of the files with the same filename as the data file. There are
filenames ending with things like TC, FSD, RC3. These files keep things like
Legacy program settings. If that is the case, then each computer will know
the location from those non-data files. Dropbox could be located differently
on each computer, but legacy only cares about the location on the current
computer. Dropbox does not have the backup, but the working Legacy file. If
you used a backup that saved all the helper files, then there would be a
problem and everything would have to be identical in each machine so that
the helper files would be  the same.
