A valid point!
I would just add that when Dropbox detects this problem (the .fdb file
has been synced from the 1st computer after you opened it on the 2nd
computer), it does not overwrite the synced .fdb file but rather it
creates a second .fdb file and includes the problem in the name. As
long as you see this at the time, you can take corrective action.

Obviously, making sure the sync from the 1st computer has completed
before opening the .fdb file on the 2nd computer eliminates this
problem.  There is an indicator on each file in the Dropbox directory
that shows if the file is "in sync" or "being updated".
