Hi,
I've asked a form of this question before but I am still having trouble. I
mistakenly created a different family file for each surname. After hearing some
advice, I would like to merge these (they still are relatively small) and make
one bigger file with all the names. When I select IMPORT FROM (so that I can
add family info from another file to this exisiting file) a Legacy file, it
asks me if I want to "Create a NEW Family File and add the Legacy Information
to it" or "Add the Legacy information to the EXISTING Family File". Something
wrong happens no matter which option I choose. Here's my problem.

When I select the first option (creates new family file), it seems to import
the selected family file but seems to REPLACE the name list instead of ADDING
to the name list and pedigree. Therefore, some of the individuals in the name
list are now gone even though I selected IMPORT FROM.

When I select the second option ("Add the Legacy information to the EXISTING
Family File".), it seems to import the individuals but the imported indivduals
only show up the in the name list and not the pedigree. Does this mean I have
to manually place the names back on the family tree?

I'm sure someone out there has attempted to merge two Legacy Files into one
larger tree.

Thanks, Jonathan
