Regarding archival DVDs and digital preserving in general, a must-read is:

https://wiki.familysearch.org/en/White_Paper:_Preserving_Your_Family_History_Records_Digitally

Print it, staple it together, sit down in an armchair and relax or take
it to bed with you and read it through. It's very well written.

Then read:

For a third opinion, I'd Google "archival DVDs" and read a few other hits.

All of this was an eye-opener for me.

Cheryl, you said: " I think I'd check with Sandisk."
I did, several days ago and they haven't replied. They said to expect to
wait a maximum of 48 hours for a reply, and it's been at least 96 hours
since I e-mailed them.
