I have the Version 4 premium edition, I guess now called the deluxe version. Will this work in MS 7? Can I install this and work on it and later go to Deluxe Ver 7.4

I want to keep using Legacy and transfer all my data the new Lap Top. What must I do first , second, third, etc. Do I need to up date my Legacy? Probably. Then what? I do have an external Hard Drive where I back up Legacy. Also, some times, I read that to fix something, users are advised to uninstall Legacy and then reinstall. When the reinstall is done how does all the years of data and pictures get back to the file? As you can guess I am not very computer smart and just had my 80th birthday. If someone can help, please keep it simple for a remarkably simple guy who still can learn.
