As DIGITAL publishers we work with PDFs all of the time.  Sherry noted that the 
200" limit is a PDF limit.  This is true.  The actual file specification for 
PDF  (the file spec is open source) notes this.

Even if you created a PDF from InDesign or Illustrator you cannot go beyond 
this limit. - If anyone finds a work around we'd be very interested in knowing.

Keep in mind too, that 200" is over 16'!  When I have needed a really 
xtra-large chart I do it in InDesign and set each page to be 192" (16') wide.  
Then spread the chart over two or more pages.

I have rather large family trees and are trying to e mail out a pdf produced on 
legacy charting and I get the message that I cannot produce the chart over 200 
inches wide. Any JPG file is usually too big and if I reduce the size it 
becomes unreadable. Is there any way I can produce a pdf over 200 inches wide?
