You should keep both and not delete your own information. Or you may want to keep the new information in a separate Legacy file until you have researched the new information carefully.
I’m very picky about information I’ve gotten from trees because you don’t know where this information came from. It could have been picked from a number of trees without sources making it difficult to verify the information.
