Ron, thanks a lot for your help. it is a .ged so, i just went to My Documents to the GEDCOM file, selected Open With, selected Legacy Genealogy Software for Windows, and it opened thru Legacy. for me, that is a major victory and now i can email it. Marc, How do you mean “it defaulted to a PAF file”? A GEDCOM has the extension .ged no matter which program created it – this is a GEDCOM file not PAF, or anything else for that matter!
