Thanks for the feedback. I will give this a try. I had thought about tagging for AKA's which would be similar to what you are suggesting.

If I were to comply with the program's wish to remove all but "John Grant" and put the rest under "AKA" is there any way that I can make up a list of all the AKA's so that I can quickly find the the correct John Grant I might be looking for? Using a wife's name doesn't work very well.
