For sources, I keep all the text for family members together and just repeat it for each person. I used to split up each line from that family and only include that in the individuals source detail, but I found it to be problematic later because I never got to see the entire family together. I'm glad I stopped doing that a long time ago.
Your idea of adding it to the events is a good idea, but I just add it as residence and include the occupation or marital status along with the date of the census and residence. ------- Bill Boswell -----Original Message----- From: Kay Fordham [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, February 21, 2011 6:02 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Obituary as Event? The census event allows me to see in family reports exactly where people were at a given time. It's kind of a "location at a glance by year" deal that is very useful to me. I copy the census event for each family member and add their personal enumeration details. The entire family is shown in the source detail Text Comments. The heading on reports follows this pattern: Census - 1850 - Ulysses, Tompkins County, New York .
