If you do not use it then it will not affect you - do you see the html in your notes etc when you haven't put them there? It has now been restored. Which ever way these specified fields work it makes no difference to the final output (ie reports etc.) but does allows web developers to see what they have done. Although it is not a facility which I use, meaning I do not format these fields, I can see the value of it being displayed for those who do.
