Hello list I've imported over a thousand entries from a PAF database with very few sources into Legacy Deluxe 7.5 with the intention of sourcing the data properly. Despite being a retired IT professional involved in genealogy for over thirty years I'm struggling to get to grips with the program. I'm particularly puzzled at the moment by what's shown about me and my wife (Deborah Mary Knight). If I click the sources button from my own individual information screen a list of events appears, with one source (my birth certificate) shown agains my 'name', 'birth', 'father rel' and 'mother rel' - I've just assigned those links as the only ones that appear relevant. Below the last one appear four more unsourced 'events'. They are: 'Marr.: Deborah Mary Knight', 'Had no children.: Deborah Mary Knight', 'Did not marry.: Deborah Mary Knight', and 'Mar Notes.: Deborah Mary Knight' Clearly this is nonsense! The imported data includes our marriage and details of our three children. Of these eight 'events' I can only find 'birth' in the Master Events List, so clearly that's not what they are - so what are they? And as searching the help files for, say, 'Father Rel.' produces no hits I'm at a complete loss. If I look at the marriage information for myself and my wife it correctly shows the details of our marriage, and the 'This couple did not marry' box is unticked. The related source screen lists the same four 'events' but without my wife's name appended. Switching to the sources page for my wife's individual information shows a similar situation except that my name rather than hers forms prt of the four field names.
Could someone please explain? And on another fron entirely, I've lots of places listed where events occured that have Englis counties abreviated to three letter codes which I'd like to globally replace (e.g. 'Essex' instead of 'Ess'). Is there a way to do this?
